MBE- my blogging experience

I thought that writing a blog was going to be a lot of work and was going to be kind of boring. But it wasn’t!

I really enjoyed doing this blog since the very beginning. From the very first moment that I created the name I knew that my blog was going a challenge. Writing every week about different topics (some of them not so entertaining) was a real challenge.

When you write a blog, you have to be creative and you have to invite some other people to feel like reading your posts. Some days my creativity was not so bright, so the posts were kind of not so cool. All the posts have a particular feeling and each one is special in some way. :)

It also helped me to know you all a little bit better and know more about your lives and interests.

So, as this is the last post, I’d like to say thank you to all of you who took the time to attend the classes, take part in them and write your blogs.  For me, it was very interesting to meet all of you and have the chance to help you to improve your English and encourage you to get involved in the wonderful world of learning a new language.
A big hug for all of you!
Cheers!

Many places not only one!

Hello everyone!

As this is going to be our last themed post, I’d like to write about one of my favorite places.

I really love to travel because it’s always good to visit new places and meet new people. I try to travel abroad at least once a year and one of my favorite destinations was Argentina but this year I went to New York City so it's become one of my favorite places in the whole world.   Even though NYC drove me crazy, I'm going to tell you about our neighboring country. I have traveled beyond the mountains so many times that I can’t count all of them. I’ve visited the most important cities there but I really love going to Mendoza. There are so many things to do there and lots of different places to visit too. What I really like there is going to the bookstores. If you are looking for a particular book, you can find it in some of the many book shops in the city, at a very cheap price!

Cordoba is my second favorite city in Argentina and I can`t forget to mention the beautiful Bariloche in the Patagonian south. There are so many places you can visit and enjoy the wild nature of forests, lakes and rivers. Water is not so warm but you can swim anyway, if you like swimming of course! I still remember when I went to San Martin de los Andes and I went to a place called "la Islita". It's a small isle very close to the shore and you can swim, especially when the lake is calm, but when it's rough it is impossible to cross and come back. This is a must if you travel to that city in the south.

There is so much to see and do in Argentina that you have to try to make some room and save some money to visit this beautiful neighboring country…

Feel free, spread your wings and fly away!

Things will never be the same!

Hey all;

When I told you to write about your favorite singer or band, I realized that this will put me on the spot. Why I named this post this way? The answer is easy.. This is the name of one of the songs of my favorite band. I'm a guy from the eighties, so I love music and bands from that time. Probably, you don't know  Roxette, you are too young to know them! They were really famous during the 80's and 90's and brought their music from the Scandinavian world. They  were many times on the top of the Billboard music ranking and one of their most famous songs was "It must have been love" from the Pretty Woman Movie soundtrack. They came to Chile  for the first time in 1992 and came back in 2010. Life gives you surprises sometimes and there I was singing their songs with a bunch of friends.. Yes, they are old like me! Lol.. Now Roxette started a new world tour and they were playing their music around the world during 2012.. I went to the concert in Bs As and Santiago. Both were great ..I really enjoyed myself!
What about your favourite music? tell me about it..

Regards

Travel without moving!!

Hello everyone!

As this is going to be a post about one website that we relate to our careers and this one, it's the one that I use the most and it's one of my favorite webpages. This is National Geographic. I really love this site because it has a lot of  stories, documentaries and pictures of almost everything you can imagine. Nature, animals, people, science, education and even games.  It is a very interesting page that everyone, regardless their interests, can enjoy a lot and can also get a lot of outstanding information. National geographic magazine has a very user-friendly layout and it is not difficult to browse around.
I visit this page almost every week to get stories and readings for my students.  The register of the language is easy to understand even for someone that is just starting to learn English. So  take a look at this website and  you’ll see what I’m talking about. It will be always fun and entertaining to browse around the pages and pictures of different topics stated in the page.

I’ll give you the like link to start your visit:

Come on, take a look. I’m pretty sure, you won’t regret…

See you all soon again, cheers!

I love dogs!

If you asked me if I like dogs, the answer would be no. I don't like 'em, I love them.  I'm definitely a dog lover. I really love dogs to the point that I got to have 4 dogs at the same time in my house. Four female ones.  Unfortunately I have only one at home nowadays. Let me tell you the story of them. There was a time in which I had 3 dogs  here in Stgo and one in my parents' house in Valpso. Their names were Frida, the black labrador retriever, Doris the black and white mixed-breed husky and Luna the stray dog that I picked up from the street one night five years ago. Although I loved all of them, the favorite one was Gala, a golden English cocker spaniel that was given to me as a present. She was the cutest dog ever.
However, life does not always have a happy ending. Frida got a very virus, so we had to put her to sleep for good four years ago . While I was abroad Doris ran away from the house and when I arrived back home I could not find her any more. And Gala was run over by a car in Valparaiso. It was a very sad day for me and my family.
I still have Luna at home now. She is very friendly and spoiled. If I had the change to have a bigger house, I'd really have more dogs. And if I could pick up all dogs from the streets and give them a home, I would. That's make  me a dog lover, right?.

Have a gr8 day!

Regards

I love this Photograph

Hey there!
As we have to talk about our favorite picture, I'm going to tell why  I want to share with you this pic and why this one is one of my favorites:
I went on holidays with my family to Pucon and there were best hols ever! We had a great time because it was the first time we went on holidays all together. There you can see me and my little niece Antonia, who was about to be 7, doing kayaking. It was the first time for her to do this so she was pretty excited and happy. You can notice that just by looking at her face.
At the very beginning she was a little scared because the kayak was moving a lot when we got into, but later she got relaxed and started enjoying the sailing along the lake. I took her deep into the lake and she helped me with the paddles.
This picture was taken in February 2011 at the Caburga Lake in the south of Chile by my sister who was pretty nervous because we were so deep in the lake but we were happy and we were wearing life-jackets.
They were the perfect vacations for everyone and it was a perfect summer day for all of us!
Hope you like it.
Cheers!

Write about a photograph you like. Say:Who took it, What it shows, When it was taken, Why you like it  and  if you like you can upload it too.

Include any other information you'd like to mention.
Write at least 150 words.

One favorite movie is not enough!

Hello everyone;

When dealing about movies, it is not always easy to say which one is our favorite. There are movies for everyone, so everybody can get what she/he wants. I love going to the cinema but it is hard to say which my fave movie is. I love action and horror films but also like sci-fi films. I really enjoyed watching The Lord of the Rings saga and the Marvel saga of superheroes, such as X-men, Iron man or the Avengers. I loved The Ring and I could watch it one time after the other. The last movies I watched were The Planet of the Apes, Confrontation and Lucy. I also like those movies based on great best sellers such as Gone with the wind or others. One of my favorite movies is Sarah's key based on the book of the same name. It tells the story of an American journalist’s present investigation into the
Vel´d’Hiv roundup of Jews in German-occupied Paris in 1942. It tells the story of young girl Sarah’s experiences during and after these events, illustrating the participation of the French bureaucracy while also showing how the French citizens hid and protected Sarah from Vichy France Authorities. The film alternates between Sarah’s life in 1942 and the journalist researching the story in 2009.
It is a great movie, but as in many cases, the book is always better!

Cheers
